Android 6.0 Marshmallow: Samsung Starts Working On Firmware Update For Multiple Devices

After Google announced Android 6.0 Marshmallow alongside the launch of the new Nexus 5X and the Nexus 6P smartphones last week, users of flagship devices from major smartphone manufacturers are now eagerly waiting to use the latest Android version on their handsets. Although South Korean tech giant Samsung has not formally announced the smartphones that will get Android 6.0 Marshmallow, a report has claimed to have come up with a list that reveals the company’s flagship handsets that will receive the update soon.

According to SamMobile, Samsung has started testing Marshmallow on multiple flagship devices that include last year’s Galaxy S5 and Galaxy Note 4. The list also includes the Galaxy S5 Neo, which is considered to be a feature-rich, mid-range smartphone.

The leaked list is a preliminary one, meaning that more Samsung devices could get the Android 6.0 Marshmallow in future, even if the list does not include them, SamMobile reported.
In addition to Samsung, other smartphone makers are also reportedly gearing up to release the new Android version for their major handsets.

The LG V10, the LG Class, the G4, the G3 and Flex 2 are among the first LG smartphones that are expected to get the Android 6.0. Other LG handsets like the G2, G2 Pro and G Flex are also likely to get the new Android version.
